Google launches new API for Android TV video apps

Updated January 11, 2018 07:07:16 Google has launched a new API that allows developers to build streaming video apps.

The new API, dubbed Sand Script, allows developers access to the same APIs and tools that are used by Netflix, Amazon and YouTube for the web.

Developers can now build an app that uses the Sand Script API, and get access to all the existing APIs for building streaming video applications.

Developers are able to build apps that use the SandScript API to: Stream video content from your device to a remote computer or to a Chromecast device using the Chrome Remote API.
