The Russian-language script for the vampire drama Vampire Diers was written by a team of Russian and American writers, according to a script analysis.
The script was first published in November 2018 and described the series as “a thriller that has a Russian twist,” the website Deadline reported.
According to the script, which was compiled by Russian actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Russia is in the midst of a dirty war against its enemies.
The series centers on Russian-American businessman Mark “Bones” Kaczynski (Coster-Weld), a former intelligence operative who returns home after serving a long prison sentence for a crime he did not commit.
After a series of bad luck and misadventures, Mark is forced to take on a dangerous job that he hopes to get away from his former life.
The film adaptation of the Russian-made script has yet to be confirmed by the Russian government, but Deadline reports that the Russian Ministry of Culture said that it was in the final stages of filming in 2018.
The movie is due out in 2019, according the website.
