BREAKDOWN: ‘Tales From The Dark Side’ sales and earnings report on Monday

BREAKING NEWS: ‘Dark Side’ has grossed more than $6.4 million in the U.S. so far this weekend.

That puts the film at No. 2 on the list of the biggest box office weekends for 2017, behind ‘The Greatest Showman’ ($7.1 million) and ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ ($6.1m).

The $2.2 million opening for ‘Dark Justice’ is the second-biggest debut for a Disney film in the last five years after Disney’s ‘Big Hero 6’ grossed $2 million in 2013.

‘Dark Sky,’ a limited theatrical release, opened to $2,092,738 for a domestic total of $10,845,064.

That makes it the third-bigger debut for Disney in 2017, and the third highest domestic debut for an animated feature film in 2017.

‘Disney’s A Wrinkle In Time’ has now opened to more than 100 million worldwide since its opening on March 10.

The studio has yet to release an official release date for the film.
